here is my stocking idea:
1) olive sand shifter snail/ nass snail
2) 6 dwarf hermit crab ( 3 scarlet , 3 blue leg)
3) a pair of clownfish
---> above 3 are already in my aquarium
4) 1 three spotted damsel
5) 1 3 stripes damsel
6) 1 blue yellow tail damsel
7) 1 Bicolor Pseudochromis
--> could i also have 1 yellow tang? or any tank at all?
after stocked with fish, i will add corals.
I have 39 gallon nano style tank with 32 gallon on display area and rest 7 gallon of overflow and all in the behind.
What do you think so far? or any suggestions?

Sorry, the tank is too small for a tang. They swim swim swim! They arent recommended for anything under 75 gallons, and quite a few species need even bigger tanks. The number of fish you have is fine, but damsels are on the agressive side and usually cause problems in the tank. They pick on other fish and eachother. I had a chalk basslet (stays small) in my tank and he was cool. You could look into blennys (midas, lawnmower) and gobies are excellent choices as well. Also, look into cleaner shrimp, they are very fun to watch! You could do a dwarf angel (fire, coral beauty, lemon) and add about 2-3 smaller fish. When I stocked my tank, I looked at pictures of every fish sold on this site and then researched the needs of the one I really liked. Good luck!

Hi there,
The damsels are very aggressive, so you are going to have to keep an eye on them when they start to get territorial. The Tang thing most will say no, but if you are thinking of getting rid off it when the tang will need a bigger home, than I would say yes. You will have 7 fish and all are very aggressive, you might be overstocked. Just keep a close eye on them and be ready to move them out if any problems arise. make sure your filtration is to par with their bioload and you will be ok for a while.

Damsels are very pretty but very evil, in that small of a tank the damsel who is the most aggressive will kill the rest and claim the tank as theirs. When you put your hand in the tank to care for it...expect to be bitten...also blood. Damsels are mean!
No tang for a tank that size. dottybacks are a very colorful small fish and they are nice, so are anthias. A royal gramma and a nice yellow blenny will go nice as well.

i would definitely stay away from damsels for sure. they are agressive and get pretty ugly when they get older. most kinda turn this ugly brown.
you might want to try some of these fish instead...they keep their color and are pretty good community fish:
-midas blenny
-flame hawk (watch with shrimp...can be a tad agressive)(GREAT personalities however)
-dwarf angels are nice (they are a 50/50 with coral nipping)
-sixline wrasses are also cool and great reef fish (introduce last so there is no trouble with it bullying other fish)

Not to be mean on locoyo's post... but getting damsels and then keeping an eye on them is a bad idea. Why you ask? Well ask ANYONE who's tried catching a damsel and trying to get the little SOB's out of your tank once they are in there. Damsels are pretty --- pretty mean also.
I'd swap out the damsels for chromis IMO. I'd also say no on the tangs.
If you do damsels -- the yellow tail would be my choice though.. the least aggressive. Those black and white stripe or dominos are just plain vicious. There are a lot of cool options for small sized tank fish -- take your time, research and enjoy :)
Oh -- if you plan on doing corals later on I'd stay clear of dwarf angels as well -- I think someone mentioned those -- they can be known to nip your corals.

Hi there,
cool no problem, everyone has different opininons. Personally I love damsels and know they get aggressive. I still love to keep them , as they are very active and show their character really well. Very hardy and they eat almost everything you give them. They are really cheap, around $2.50 where I am . I also keep other fish aswell, that's is why I said to keep an eye on them. They are ok with other fish untill they reach about 2.5" and catching them can be challenging, but not extremely difficult if you really understand their bahavior. I would have to admit they are harder to catch in bigger tanks though. As far as the Tang, I will live that one alone.
