Ich won't harm your inverts. If you allow the tank to be fish free for 6 weeks or so it should be safe to add fish again.
The boards always slow on the weekends. I'm sure you're find some helpful advice come monday.

Honestly four weeks is probally sufficient. Someone more knowledgable will surely reply in the disease forum on monday.
I said six weeks just to cover any bases. I've heard some reports that ich may go into a hibernation and some of them may survive longer than 4 weeks. Not sure if theres any truth to that though.

Just to back up Daniel411 he is right about six weeks and that is why people should qt their fish that long too.

Always qt every fish sick or not will save you laods of problems down the road. Just because they look healthy does mean they dont have something cooking.

Doing a freshwater dip does help but it only makes the parasites that are on the surface of the fish fall off not the ones that are deep in the fish. I dont see how freshwater dip can help bacterial infections and viruses. Do you remember what book you read that in, Id be interested in reading it.

3 minutes, that's more of a bath isn't it a dip is jsut a couple seconds

I ahve freshwater dipped fish up to 5 min and never had a problem with them being harmed because of it but I do think certain types of fish would get stessed to the point of doing harm.
