Can I nuke my RO water?

Its the same basic principles if the water your heating has any additives in it. Most people dont realize that when you microwave, you change ionic charges in particles. You may be canceling the effect of the DI in the RO/DI. But I'm not sure.

Probably would do the same for bacteria in your RO as well and sterilize it. Ro will only take out solids, but not bacteria.
We have microwaved cell culture flasks for the past 20 years by microwaving them for 20 minutes in the presence of a cup of water. All live organisms consist of water, and microwaving them will boil their internal water, killing them.

Anyone who doesn't have enough sense to thoroughly stir nuked baby food shouldn't be allowed to, have kids. Unfortunately there are some. Nuked water should be stirred well to avoid "hot spots" too. When I load a garbage can with water for changes, I always add a gallon or so of very hot water before adding the salt. This seems to be more accurate (SG) and requires less adjusting salt as sg can vary with temp. (If I remember right) It also may lengthen the life of my garbage can heater, a phrase not often heard outside this hobby; but, that seems like a pretty silly reason to do it.
