Believe i have 240 or 260 watts, 4 bulbs. 75 gal tankI don't trust my lfs not to sell me things I shouldn't keep. If I have some pics i can identify them at the store, the names would be nice also. Thanks!

i have a branch hammer and a long-tentacled green plate... you can see them on this website, but those pics dont really do them justice. they're both very bright and happy under my pc's

Thanks, look good! Just came back from lfs and they had many corals under pc lighting, but couldn't get over the shimmer effect the halides give to the water! Someday will get one for just that reason, loved it. The salesman did say not to purchase anything with a green color, they need the stronger lighing and will become pale if not enough lighting.

They really arn't that much more expensive. You can buy a mh retrofit kit that is cheaper than the ones that are already housed and you can just put it in your canopy. I switched from PC to MH.

Got to get instructions on how to build a retro. I just bought my pc lighting (no canopy) don't need one because my tank is recessed so everything but the front of tank is hidden. I am thinking of MH pendant light above and set back from my pc.

A pendent eh? That would help if you had heating issues, but they give a beam of light. So you would probably want two one for each side of your tank.

Ok, that makes sense, not really sure I want that much heat on my tank, guess I will have to think about that, for now, no shimmering water, but some darn nice soft corals!
