Can I? Should I? Sue Walmart for 1 1million or more?

my mom was going to sue walmart a few years ago.....it was the after thanksgiving sale and the cashiers were just throwing the plastic hangers all over the floor while my mom was walking a cashier threw down a bunch of them right were my mom was walking and she fell and tore some ligaments in her hand. they paid for all surgery and medical bills and gave her a chunk of cash as a settlement.

A stocker dropped a fan onto my 1 year old son. He was around on the other side of the isle, pushing a box onto a high shelf. As a result he pushed the one already there out of it's spot, where it fell, right onto my son.
But he was fine. No harm done, he didn't even cry. The employee said sorry and I was happy.
I'd hate to see that guy lose his job over an accident.
But the hair thing! That is a quality control issue!
Honestly Mia, I don't know how to feel about this. I do hate walmart, but here we are on other (political) threads saying how it's so wrong to take from others and earn your own way and stuff...
I mean, like grouper said, if you were at a friends house and you saw a hair, suing wouldn't even enter your mind! If you were at a strangers house and you saw a hair, you prolly wouldn't think to sue. So to sue them cause their jerks, or cause they have tons of extra money is just the wrong reason.
So, lets take a deep breath. And go back to square one where it's just a joke.
I want them to get their Karma, but if you sue for the wrong reason, your asking for trouble.
Crap.
I hate walmart.
But fair is fair...
But we can still joke about it right?

Walmart is one of most unethical companies around when it comes to how they buy their merchandice. They practically setup the sweatshops for their stuff to be made in. Don't think that a name brand at Walmart is the same as any other store. They are so big and spend so much, companies build specific items just for them and it will be of lower quality. I will always spend more somewhere else just to stay out of their stores.

How messed up is that!

Here is something else ironic about that. I work for a steel (erection/fabrication) construction company, and we get jobs to bid in all the time. We recently recieved one for a Walmart (last week). They don't allow any products used during, or fabrication that is not American. All the steel, electical, plumbing, etc., has to be from America. Why would they request that issue, and them turn around and buy/sell things from China. I do believe this is why they claim to be an American store!!! There is a film about this, its actually on Comcast ondemand now. I believe its called "Walmart - Low cost at high expense" or something like that.

Well I don't know if anyone else has said this but , Even if you did sue them the settlement would not be much. The Gov. allows a certain amount of...ready fro this....Rat hair, human hair, and fecal matter ( yep that's poop!!) in all foods. That is not to say your case was not more than allowed , it probably was. However you wouldt get much for a piece of hair. I used to own 2 restaurants and took many safe food handling classes , that's where I learned that shocking info about what the gov. standards were on food processing plants. Kinda gross huh?

Yes that is a quailty control issue... something that they Guarantee. Now if no one acts upon incedents where quality control slacks then what is the point of having quality control. Someone needs to keep them in check. When you go to your friends house there is no guarentee promised.
That 300% check that they sent you. You and HR is the only people that know about it. The workers dont have a clue a hair was found in product they worked on and shipped out. Except for the person that put the hair there trying to sabbatage wal-mart the job they hate. So take that purposely placed hair and run with it. Buy us all a nice frag of rare zoa's so you dont feel terrible about taking all that money.
