Can i use my skimmer as a sump

I bought a Remora and its for my 26 gallon bow. Well i bought it with the overflow box and it makes my tank look a little cluttered. Can i put my heater (its an all-glass one) in the out put end of the skimmer. Will this hurt anything like melting plastic and will it still keep my tank warm. I think it will be ok but wondered what other people thought.

I would say no. They are designed for a specific flow rate and taking up volume may affect that. Besides, if the heater got moved accidentally, it could burn a hole in your skimmer.
