I was wondering if I can take some of my LR out of my tank and clean it "romove some bad algea" would this kill my rock?

It will be ok if you keep it in some salt water while you are cleaning it. Much more than 10 minutes out of the water and the bacteria will start to die.Then it will cause problems in the tank when you put it back in.
