Species only tanks for mantis. They'll catch and eat anything and everything else.

Yes, mantis shrimp need to be in an acrylic tank all by themselves.

dang there so cool but i dont know if i really want to just have one thing in a tank i guess could they live in a 5 gallon non glass tank and also do u know what levels the require and lighting? :notsure:

They do not require any lighting, and the same levels as any saltwater animal.

Does anyone know what will happen if you kept 2 mantis shrimp in the same tank? And andersH, I would probably go with something closer to a 20 gallon tank. (they can get pretty big)

they will fight to the death. my mantis was housed next to another one at the lfs. and would try to go through the acrylic to get him.
a peacock needs at least a 30gal. check out this info site from a mantis expert.
