Bio Balls will only make them go higher. have you tested the new water going into the tank It may have nitrates in it from the start. I do not run a fillter media I only have carbon in my power filter. How much live rock and how much live sand? What type of lighting do you have?

That tank is to small for the triggers, they may be what is killing your coral. Triggers also put out alot of waste, and you have a small tank. You can keep the clown but wait until your water stabilizes before you buy anymore fish, probably about a month minimum.

How high? What is the reading? The only way to get it down is water changes. You need to change about 10 gals. The next day 5 gals the next day 5 gals the next day 5 gals then re test. But test the water you are useing it could already be high then it would not help to change it. Do you do once a week water changes of at least 5gals?

Corlas can not handel high nitrates but It usaly will not kill a fish but if the fish are not eating then they could be streesed from it and that could kill them
