i have been thinking this is hair algae but can someone chime in and tell me if i am right or wrong. i fought dinos for quite some time and have still been dealing a bit with those but now this is all over. any help is greatly appreciated.

tank is a little over a year old. it is in a 90 gal tank with 20 gal sump/fuge. i have cheato in my fuge.
it doesnt seem to have the feathery ends

YAY hair algae.
I would try a tooth brush scraping it off and have someone there with a siphon and try and suck it up. From there --- find out where your extra nutrients are coming from.
It's not harmful -- just a pain to get rid of.

what is the live stock in the tank, there are things that will eat it (hair algae) and w/c will help to

all i have now is a clownfish, banghai cardinal, sally lightfoot, couple of hermits, and a few snails. when i had a bad dino problem most of my snails died off. i am placing an order tonight for a clean up crew. any livestock you suggest? i am thinking of ordering the following:
kole tang
30 blue leg hermits
25 turbo snails (the ones that look like the astria snails)
1 sea hare
15 nass snails
