Can someone tell me wat a drilled tank is?

a drilled tank or reef ready tank has holes already drilled in the tank in order for it to drain into another tank underneath it called a sump or refugium where you can place macroalgae that consumes excess nutrients, grow copepods, or a place to put equipment in like heaters or protein skimmers. it is returned back up the to the display tank by a return pump.

If you are talking about a tank that has been drilled by someone other then the factory, has a hole in the back near the top.

Yes that does! Thank you! And btw how many people actually buy tanks and drill them compared to buying a reef ready tank? Why would someone buy a undrilled tank and drill it? Just alittle confused on this subject!

I think it's just easier to buy a reef-ready tank. The hole are already drilled and you've got the overflow box already installed. If you drill the tank yourself you run into the risk of it cracking.
