Can Tangs eat "roasted" sushi nori??

It was the only kind my chinese grocery store had and this will be the first time I've given them sushi nori...I usually give them dried laver which they absolutely love :D

Do not use roasted anything. It has oils in the product, thats something you do not want in your tank. Remember the Valdese oil freighter.... LOL

it is roasted not fried (roasted- no oil, fried- with oil) roasting just removes the water content, example-- beef jerky. if it was not roasted you would be wrapping sushi with raw algae. check it next time it's roasted. i have feed this nori to my tang for the last two years with no ill effect. compare the contents in both the package at the pet store and grocery store, you will find it the same. try it!

The roasted nori contains no fat, no salt and still has vitamins A,C and D so perhaps I'll try a small piece and see what the reaction is.
I couldn't believe how cheap the dried laver was...it was $1.50 for 5 huge discs of it...that will easily feed my tangs for the rest of the year ;) ps. I'm supplementing with other highly refined herbivorous flakes and getting ready to start a fuge for them too :)
Thanks for all of the advice everyone :D

I use the same thing. It has nothing in it except for dried seaweed. Same exact stuff, 1/8th the price.

LOL, I have to laugh because my tangs are so picky about what nori they eat you'd think they read the "roasted" or "dried" on the label or the brand or whatever. There was a "dried" nori brand that they loved and we couldn't get it here anymore. We bought the new brand that said "roasted" on it. They wouldn't touch it. So my husband went to the asian food market and bought 3 different brands and thank goodness they liked one of them. But not the other 2. They are spoiled rotten.:D Actually isn't "roasting" how they "dry" it? There isn't really a difference is there? They won't eat anything that says roasted on the bag and they won't touch seaweed selects.

I buy roasted seaweed from my lfs. I have been giving to my yellow tang for about 3 years now along with formula 2 and she is beautiful and has always been healthy.
