Can too many air buibbles kill fish?

I've never used a skimmer before. Finally got everything transferred to the 150. YAY!
Well, what I'm keeping anyway. I turned on the skimmer, and it worked great for a few hours. Then it stopped producing skimmate. I realized that I had the skimmer return pointed directly at the skimmer intake pump. Duh, I was just recycling the same little bit of water. So I moved the return. It was then pointing at my Mag 24 return pump for the DT. Seemed to be great, until this morning. First thing I noticed when I woke up were micro bubbles all over the tank. Then I noticed my new cherub angel laying on his side breathing heavily. Then I noticed lots of micro bubbles coming from my return line. So I have now moved my skimmer return halfway between the two pumps, and both problems seem to be solved now. I'm just hoping this is why my cherub angel was suffering. Thanks for reading and for any input!

ive heard bubbles can get caught in fish's gills and if enough are in their they could die, but i am unsure how true that is..

the small micros bubbles can cause irratation to the fish in the long run I wouldnt rule out death from it.
air bubbles also cause a lot of saltcreep and other undesireable out comes.
its best to limit the amount of bubbles in a tank as much as you can.

also air bubbles can get inside sponges and block the maxtrix channels, starving it to death, but thats only a problem if you have them.
