can you change out a 150 for a 250

i have a coralife fixture with two 150 W metal Halides in it i was wondering is there a difference in the reflector and bulb size (length)? So can i disconnect the 150 ballast and replace with a larger one and larger light.

does anyone know? or maybe i am not being clear enough on what i mean, I do that alot

will the wireing be the same and can i just switch out bulbs? as in are most ballast with a quick connect on them the same. any suggestions would be great. or second option is to add something like two t5s to my setup kindof like a retro kit or something.

if you are asking if you can put 250 bulbs into a fixture, with a ballast designed for 150 bulbs, no you cannot do that

not just change the bulbs but change the ballast and all, i like the fixture and thought it would be cheaper, to use it with a different ballast and bulb.

no the bulbs are diffrent sizes. 150s are smaller then 250s they wont fit.

okay thanks, I will look into getting some type of t5 retro kit to compliment my hallides

i read somewhere that you can do that to pendants the double ended ones, so if they happen to be the same size will it still work?
