Can you drill live rock?

With all the rock stacking there must be a way to strap up those LR with tie wraps? I've seen what looks like tie wraps in the LFS. Is it safe to drill them or will they break up easily? Would the plastic be safe?

I imagine it would be safe. Make sure your drill bit isn't to big for the rock. Also, have ya thought about using glue or putty adhesive?

Thanks for the tips.
About glue I wasn't sure you could use glue because of the chemicals. I know paint is nasty so I figured since glue can be nasty it was out?:notsure:

Make sure you get a glue that his approved for use in marine tanks.
Two other options I've heard people using are zip-ties (the plastic latching straps mentioned) and drilling holes, then connecting with plastic dowel rods.
Good luck and drill slowly
! :D
