same kind used in shrimp cocktails and stuff. if you thaw them and cut them up could you feed them to fish like damsels, tangs, or pufferfish? Just curious thank you

I do it once a week! Just don't cook them and be sure they are pelled before you chop them up;) My fish and meat eating corals love it.

I also use fish fillets, clams, and scallops for the store as well. As wrassecal said, don't cook it, and make sure to remove the shell. I feed my puffer, eels, and triggers this way. I do supplement with krill, and frozen silversides as well. Also good to soak in zoe before feeding.

i make a slery (sp?) with shrimp, seaweed, silversides, brine shrimp, and whatever else i can find. then i blend it all up and put it into ice cube trays. after they are frozen i drop one into the tank for the fish. i also thaw one or two weekly and place it in an eye dropper so that i can spot feed things.:p

The reason that I recommend removing the shell from the shrimp is that the puffer will not eat the shell, and will end up spitting it out, all over the tank, and making a big mess.

I go to Wal Mart to the fish section and buy a bag of fresh frozen, shrimp, squid, scallops etc for $4. I take out a piece and chop it up for the fish/meat eating corals. Lasts forever. HTH

like the idea with the ice cube trays.. i would love to find some very small trays...
Also, i know from my fishing experience, oily fish such as kingfish and mackerel can be frozen for up to 6 months, non-oily fish such as dolphin and grouper can last up to a year. After that, it spoils and should not be eaten.
Shell fish are rather oily, so i wouldnt suggest making more than a few months at a time...
