Can you find the mis-bar?

Are you going to cull him? I didn't notice mine was like this until I had already bought it, but I like it so I'll keep it.

There is a popular on-line company that sells those as aquacultured. I realize that they are, but they sell them under that "title". My sis in law bought one and I thought it was a saddleback, when I asked her about it, she replied (as if I were an idiot) "Oh, no...It's supposed to look like that, it's an aquacultured clown" Tisk, tisk...
See Bang, people will buy anything!! Just get it neutered and sell it as a rare one-of-a-kind specimen!! Ya know, neutered, so it won't continue it's "tainted flaws" LOL
Pretty fishies Bang, I wish I could see that many in real life, it'd be a kalidascope of clown. LOL

Isn't the theory that if they are mis-bared they could be genetically deficient??
Of course it is also seen as breeding designer fish. kinds of like those designer goldfish and guppies.
Either way have you saturdated your local market with aquacultured clowns yet??

I believe the problem with the aquacultured clowns is that people inbreed a lot, so they get to be misbarred. Like two clowns will mate, then two of the offspring will mate, then two of those offspring will mate and so on. With genes this close there is bound to be problems. Could also happen from clowns that are like cousins, or aunt x nephew and all those other combos that you can match through the clownfish family tree.

 That's why I say... Get it neutered. LOL
She was more than just getting a mis bar by chance... They are advertised that way on their sight!! Lemme see if I can show a pic without showing the sight.

In my opinion Mis-Barring is more a sign of a developmental problem. I say that because people that have bred mis-barred Ocellaris do not report more mis-barred fish than normal.
The Clownfish in the picture look like they have a genetic problem.. Basically an overbite. That is a genetic defect and I would have culled them. Their color isn't great either. I have a feeling they found a bunch of inferior fish and got a good price on them.
I can understand the attraction to mis-barred Clowns though. Some of them are really cute.

I agree w/ Bang Guy that the mis bars can be really cute. It just bugs me a bit that some people would try to pass off the defects as if they were the way they should be. Nevertheless, mis bars are cute.
