Can you have to much light??

I have a 55 gallon tank now thats pretty much F.O but i plan on putting some coral in it. How many watts of light do i need? I was thinking of 2 vho 110 watts. Is that to much? thanks all............

Nope.. not at all.... First you need to decide on the types of corals you want to keep and then we can discuss lights. They all have diffrent needs so once you have that in mind we can help with your selection.
Some do not do well in high and some do.. It all depends.

Here is 'watt' I've been told: 3-8 W/g for Mushrooms, and other softies. 6-10 W/g for sps. and >13 W/g is too much. That's what I've gathered.

no is not much. i also have 55 gallon tank. my tank has 2 175 watt MH and 220 watt PC. all my coral open and healthy

You can never have too much. You may however have to do the coral shuffle.IMO Tom
