Could be a polyp, feather duster, or apstaisa. The picture isn't the clearest.
When you put your finger near it, does it retract all the way into the rock very quickly, or is it a little slow to retract?
Do you only see it at night? I have some of these...had them for a long time and they never have reproduced or caused trouble for me. Doesn't mean they won't for you....
I have a couple of itty bitty anemone-looking things like in the pic and like Ophiura said, they have never caused me any problems.
In fact, I placed my new galaxea coral next to them, so if anything, it is gonna sting the hell out of them lol.
I would probably also do as suggested and either pick up a peppermint shrimp or get some Joe's Juice to take care of them. It sounds definitely like apstaisa to me now.
sounds and looks like Aiptasia to me.
Some people dont mine em, must of time they tend to over run evrything. Peppermint shrimps are a good idea. Ive also had luck with taking strand of copper wire (unwinding stereo wire) and poking into anenome. Let sit for few hours, then remove. Shouldnt copper tank but a partial water change after is not bad idea.
I would chew out my own tongue before sticking copper wiring anywhere near my tank..
Doing a water change afterwards would be pointless. You either have copper in the tank or you don't... you might lower the concentration of it a bit, but you still have copper in your tank.
