can you paint the back of a acrylic tank?

i want to hide the equipment by painting it black but the tank is acrylic is this ok? and what kind of paint?

black latex will work probably, I wouldn't imagine it would be any harder for the paint to the acrylic than a glass, I'd get a second opinion though

Why not use the adheasive stuff, goes on with soap and water?
Made by oceanvisions or something like that.

When i had a clear back tank, I just used colored shelf paper and stuck it to the back of the tank. Seems a lot easier than painting.
