Can you touch a BTA?

You will be fine. I just put a new one in my tank and if you can get past the squishy feel (yep, i'm a girl) everything will be fine. I personally have never felt a thing other than the stickiness. Everyone else is just trying to be funny. You will be fine!

I touch mine all the time. NO harm. I do not get stung ever. I even move them around. I have no trouble with them

BTAs have a light sting and wont penetrate human skin (As far as I know) I see almost all the people I know handling theirs with bare hands (not that you do it every day though)
I think its more a allergic reaction than anything else.
I wouldn't touched it if I have an open wound in my hand though
