can you use salt for tropical fish and goldfish?

i have some salt by jungle for tropical fish and goldfish. it is crystals. is this the same as the salt we use for saltwater normally? or is this no good and should only be used for saltwater?

My *guess* would be that it is different.
Marine aquarium salt is mixed with all the various trace elements found in sea water.
Read the ingredients of your salt. Does it list a bunch of trace elements?

there is no ingredients :( i know it is used for freshwater normally so i guess its prob not good for salt

Definitely do not use this sort of aquarium salt for a saltwater tank. This is generally used for medicating freshwater fish or similar use.

i know this is not your question but i have seen the opposite done. my lfs will use a little instant ocean in their goldfish section.

Not necessarily. It is aquarium salt. And we are keeping saltwater aquaria. It is a perfectly reasonable question. I have heard people ask about using table salt in a saltwater aquarium.
