Can Zoas kill...me?

I recently purchased several frags of Zoas. My research says that they are poisonous and should be handle with care. I read that if you develop flu like symptoms after handling them, seek medical attention. Is this true for all Zoas? I haven't had anyone ever tell me this. I use gloves now which I had meant to use in the past.

There are certain types that are more toxic than others and it is more dangerous if you are cutting the tissue, just don't handle them without gloves if you have a cut, and be sure to wash your hands after fragging or handling them.
It is something to be aware of but nothing to freak out over.

Thanks. I'm using the gloves whenever I put my hands in the tank now. Seems like LFS stores would put out a disclaimer. Maybe the one I have aren't that bad but I will still practive safety.

It would take a HUGE colony of zoo's to produce 10ml's of toxin id guess. The dropper in a bottle of selcon is only 1 ml and thats alot of liquid.

When I got my first colony of zoo's I developed all kinda weird symptons, turned red, aching all over, headaches, fever, actually had to go to the doc. figured out that I had a reaction to handling the zoo's, so now I wear dust free latex gloves. I think some people may be more sensitive to them, someone else a few weeks back posted about a LFS employee that was rushed to the emergency room for a zoo related reaction.

is the toxin only released if they are cut or wounded? or are they constantly releasing toxin into the saltwater?
