I am willing to bet that this will go down as the most watched hockey game in television history. Not only will it go down as the most watched game, but it will also go a long way to create a lot more hockey fans.
Already did. Good prediction. Its being hailed as the highest viewed hockey game ever.
Probably will create fans.It did for 2 of my sisters and mom, all they talked about all week was Sundays game. We had a huge family party even bigger than super bowl! It was great.
I was always a fan, but this definitely rekindled it.

Ya, kinda happens when you have a host country judging.
I saw that lame call on Apollo, that was total bogus. Cost him a gold.
But hey, didn't it go to Canada? Mission accomplished.
I thought it was Olympic judging.

Still 14 GOLD from our great country is AWESOME!

Home feild advantage or not; CANADA still won more gold metals than anyone. Ever!
The closing ceremony was the best I've ever seen. Made me proud to be a CANADIAN.

Eh men to that, the judges come from ALL over the world not just Canada... Actually there are only one judge from any one country for any one sport....
When you think about it, a country with only 35 million winning that many gold; at the winter Olympics is amazing. With countries like China, Russia with huge populations; hell even the USA has 10x the amount of people Canada dose, you would think then they would have more people to choose from... So really when you think about it did the USA really kick Canada’s ass? I think not.

There is also over 300 events at the summer olympics and ony 86 at the winter.... Again can't compare, the usa has alot of the same climate as canada, its not all snow and ice... Actually most of canada is the same as the climate as the mid states.
If you really want to look at it if canada had the same population as the States we should in theory have 180 medals as you guys have 10x the tallent to choose from....

Probably more important then population size, is to look at the number of Olympic athletes that each country actually sent. US and Canada were #1 and #2, in total athletes respectively. US had 215, Canada had 206.
So for figures, one out of every 5.97 American athletes got a medal, one out of every 7.63 Canadian athletes got a medal.

Size is huge. Think about is the classification they have in high schools. a 2A school isnt going to compete with a 4A. The 2a has half the kids to choose from. Its impressive that Canada got that many golds. It is what you strive for. You dont strive for 2nd or 3rd.
Other than that Canada is boring and they talk like dorks.

Maybe up north, but come on, no way I'm going up there, it is too cold. Heck I don't like living somewhere that snow will stick for more than a day...

I'm sorry to say this, but if you thought our guys were playing well you probably don't watch a lot of hockey. Now the preliminary is another story, that was beautiful. But lets be honest the US got dominated untill the 3rd period. Miller still played amazing but half of those SOG should have never happend, turnover after turnover and there was at least a dozen times when our D was 1 on 2 or 1 on 3. And it breaks my heart cause Team Canada was chalk full of Goons. Pronger, Neidermayer, Getzlaf, Staal, and of coarse CINDY who scores the winning goal which wasn't even that great... But hey we got silver...

Considering hockey is a fourth rate sport in the US the team did well. If Canada had more going for it this would of past already. I was checking into my hotel in Mexico when the game ended and some moron started talking trash to me because Im American. I didnt even know the game was on or who was playing nor did I care.
