Canadian Sites

Hi, to any of the Canadians out there.
Anyone know of ANY online sites that sell LIVESTOCK online and deliver? I can't find anything. There are a ton for materials, hardware, etc etc. Thanks in advance.
Edit: After a looong time of research and probing... I haven't found much at all! lol.. But for fellow canadians -- there is a company in quebec that are selling lightfixtures from fishneedit.com. This way you can avoid the duty and taxes that could be imposed at the border. They are a new company and their support team is fantastic. http://www.arcticbubbles.com
Not sure if the website is up yet -- but I have more contact details -- I don't want to post it here cause I'm not sure if im allowed to? I'm not trying to advertise or what not.. but yea... so PM me if anyone's interested. Thanks

@monsinour I suppose i could order from anywhere in the world -- only problem is the shipping. 1 day shipping becomes at least 2-3 day depending on location -- and the shipping fee's become double if not more and then there's problems with customs/taxes at the border with shipping 'livestock'.
@ibew41 im about a 6 hour drive from buffalo

Also, many places only ship to the continental US due to the issue with one day shipping.
Wilioli, I did a google search for buying saltwater fish in Canada and was able to come up with a few sites that were based in Canada. Also, I think there are a few members on here from Canada. You can PM them. One that comes to mind is Al&Burke. They can probably help you more than me. Good luck!

Hi Wilioli, I shop at Big Al's in Stoney Creek/Hamilton, I haven't tried to bring any livestock over the border yet, I live about 1/2 hr from Buffalo. I work in the States all the time. Been meaning to buy some stuff from SWF once I get the border thing figured out. Big Al's has been good to me as far as livestock and their hardware and supplies are very good, they are all over the place in Southern Ontario. If you are 6 hours from Buffalo you must be a Northerner (Sudbury-North Bay)
Good luck I will keep an ear out, there is one on line in Ottawa that I have checked out very limited though, good place to start.

hey, im actually from barrie -- so maybe im 4-5 hours from buffalo.. lol -- but still! Yea we have a bigals here.. i really am not impressed by it.. livestock is horrible... corals are all bleached and look like they're dying... they have an abundance of clowns, and then they popular species like tangs, and chromis -- everything else is hit or miss with them.. .so I was lookin for other sources.. their hardware selection is a bit more expensive than most..? maybe just me and my experience... ? Thanks tho

lol, im about an hour and a half away from toronto... there are lfs in toronto -- i have yet to go there and check those out -- but its a mission to go through all the different stores to find something! figured online would just be easier -- especially if its a toronto based company/store. Tim hortons is on its way! Actually they've opened a lot of places in the states...

I appreciate that, thank you. My main concern was getting something outside of the province of ontario.. -- In case anything happened with the shipping.. I dunno. Maybe I can ask you this on this thread as well.. how long can fish/corals/livestock survive in fedex packages? under those conditions i guess...?

I have bought all my corals at Big Al's yes some of them look pretty bad at the store but since I got them they look pretty good in my tank, I have bought bascally small frags and I have been lucky, and alot of help from this forum has made a huge difference. I love this hobby I like to watch things grow, glad to have another canadian along for the ride. Our neighbors to the south are pretty good people as you will find out. That a lot of kiss @@$ tonight. Watch out for sale at Big Al's subscribe to their newsletter, that is how I buy most of my stuff. I have quite a few FW tanks as well.

you know there's a point there -- i was reading up on this.. IF bigals had ultimate lighting and a phenomenal environment setup for their corals -- then you'd have to match that to bring the corals and have them look that way in your tank.. otherwise they will just look better no matter what in another tank.. right? lol... i think?
neighbors to the south are definitely good peeps -- this forum is excellent! Im definitely gonna subscribe to the newsletter. apparently theres some midnight madness comin out on the 20th..? lol thats enuff promo for them -- thanks again !
