Candy Cane Coral Question

i just bought a candy cane coral yesterday.....i want to know how i can tell if its doing well and happy....they seem like "un-emotional" corals haha

The best way to tell if the coral is doing ok is that the flesh of the coral is swollen, and feeder tentacles are out. Feeder tentacles may not always come out, but you should see them at some point during the day or night. Mine are out most of the time, especially when the fish are being fed. It should almost double in size with the proper lighting. For your comparison, here is my candycane.

hmm so far mine dont look anything like that......they havernt opened up.......they like strong flow ? i have them in medium'ish flow

Just wanted to know what type of lighting you are running and the placement in the tank of the candy cane coral. I wish mine looked that great!

they do not like flow or high light.... escpecially if they are new to the tank ( mine are pleasant under a single 2x96w fixture only because they did not like my ATI powermodule.
