candy cane question

for about a few months now i have had success with keeping a colony of candy canes in my tank, they would be all inflated every day and every night they would open up to feed and even one is dividing, but for the last new days(ever since i ran carbon) the heads have not been opening up at all really day or night. and im afraid that they might not be doing so well? im not sure if this is a temperament issue such as a leather coral would do, but all ideas are welcome. its not close to anything else either.

I think phosphate when I see carbon in use…

no phosphate, just use it once a month to clear the water up. last time it was tested using environmental water authority testing it was like .06

figured it out myself i think....
they are all splitting at once! the whole colony seems to be splitting which is awesome!
