Canister filter leak?

I recently changed some media and when I got the filter going again I had a large puddle an hour later under my tank. Needless to say the canister started leaking around the seal where it clamps. Is there any suggestions that you might have for me. I imagine that this might be a common problem. I am thinking about lacing up the top and bottome where they connect thick with plumber tape. Any other suggestions?

What brand is it? Micro cracks in seal, not properly latched, cracked housing.

I have 3 Eheim filters for my tanks, how old is it? I know upon set up they provide Eheim 'lube' that you are suppose to coat all the o-rings with, did you do that before setting it up? I would check all the o-rings, it is possible you disloged one or damaged one and it is not sealing correctly. What model do you have?

Not sure. It is a 4 stage filter though.
