canister filter

can anyone tell me how to change the medium on a canister filter
because i just tried to do it and it was a disaster

yes, please give us more info, type and model of canister, as well as what you have for other filtration ect.

its a cascade 700
and it was a disaster because when i attempted to do iti spilled water on the floor

if you can put it in a 5 gallon bucket, and leave it in there, when you go to clean it out. Use the shut off valves that came with it, disconnect the hoses, then carry the who thing to the bathtub or outside or whatever. My buddy does that with his fluvial 405, if it doesn't fit in the bucket, use a rubber maid tub or something. That will help with the water problem
