Canister Filter

Okay...so I have a Penn Plax Canister Filter which I really do like...the thing is the spray bar. I can't stand it...it pushes too much water around my tank and bubbles..I was wondering if it was safe to turn that off? It is connected to the output valve I think. Thanks!
Also- what else could I put in my canister besides the carbon packs and the bio sponge??

I love my spray bar...if you have it setting just right at the top of your water it should work great...it's great for top water movement..IMO...Your filter should have come with an additional tube and a different return...if not you can order one..just figure out your tubing size and go from there.
I have the ceramic bio rings in my canister...no carbon

Do you have your water turned down. I do love the water movement..just asking if it is okay to maybe turn it down? I bought the rings just haven't taken them out yet...how do you have them in there?

I use my canisters mainly for flow in my 225g...In my Magnum it has a container...I have the ceramic rings in that
In my Cascade..it has trays...I have the ceramic rings in one of the trays
I have a spray bar on each end of the tank....I have them pointing almost straight out...not so the water comes up and slpashes...but so I can see ripples on the top of the water
