would a canister filter suitable for to a 200g tank be ok for a 55g fowlr for now?or should i just go with wet/dry, me and wife a saving up for house right now so i dont wanna set anything elaporate till were in our house,
As a rule of thumb ,Any filter is going to require Maintance. Imo, The canister is not fun, I had one and every week i was taking it apart to clean it. It houses nitrates that build up, Wet dry is the way to go, But in my 40 Gal im using a Aqua Clear 110 and all i have in it is small pieces of live rock and carbon to keep the water clear, Also with this filter ive read you can even make a small fuge out of it. But i havent done that yet.
Hope this helps.
Carl.

I would just make a section for chaeto, I had sand and live rock in mine but it took up too much room, I took it out and now my chaeto has my whole fuge to grow in.
