You should start by reading the manual. it and all Canons since the first A20 came out probably over 5yrs ago have macro mode. you just put the camera in auto mode, manual, P mode or whatever. then theres a button (wife took my camera and have a different model so cant tell you specifically) that when you press it the display should scroll thru a small pic of a square, interlocking squares, a flower and nothing. When the flower is showing on the bottom of the display its in macro mode.
To get really good aquarium photos your going to have to learn to use the camera in manual mode (while still in macro) where you adjust your own shutter speed and aperture settings (you may have to research what those do before using manual mode). Use of a tripod is just about mandatory too as the camera shouldn't be moving at all. the longer the shutter speed the more important that becomes. Your camera is 10X better and newer than my Canon A40 which actually sucks at true macro shots but is still capable of being about this good:
