I went ghetto and got that ugly iron stand. I want to make a stand and canopy. Should i take out half of the water and put it on the new stand? Will that be to heavy or will it be easy? O BTW its a 55 gallon.

You don't want to take any chances and split a seam. I would take out the rock and the water into 5 gallon buckets. Don't touch the sand. Then move the tank onto new stand use the plate trick or a garbage bag so as not to stir sand up and add rock. If you are careful no sandstorm and should not be a cycle.
