hey guys im just sitting here looking at my canopy and trying sooooo hard to make my tank stay the correct degrees without getting a chiller.. a chiller is outta the question.. cant pay for one.
my canopy is a 14" canopy, it has a 3" fan hole on both sides.
im gonna have 1 blowing in and 1 blowing out.
but what if i bought 2 6-7" clip on desk fans and put them in the back corner over each overflow and inner return box. and have then pointing down onto the water..... it wont block anylight because it will be over overflows... but will it melt? and if not.... think this will work great?

What kind of lighting and how close to the fans///
If I understand you right... why not put the 4in 110v fans from radio shack in the hood
Clip the fans onto the sump and let it blow there...

Let me know... if you don't want the fans to run all day (probably make the tank too cool) then put them on the timer with your lights...
Why not put the canopy fans into the hood... then put the sump fans in if you can't get it down from there... two stages low and slow....
