So once again, I have want to know all of your opinions on my DIY canopy that I am currently working on. I have taken ALOT of pics of all of the wiring and my setup. So this canopy will be going on a 55 gal tank. In this setup I have 2x175w Aqua Medic Medal Halides with 10,000k Coralvue bulbs, 2x55w T-5 with 2x Actinic URI bulbs and a Ice Cap variable speed cooling fan. Thanks to all of SCSInet's help and a few others, I think that I got all of the wiring down and correct. What I did to connect all of the wires is twist the wires into these butt splicers then used a multi-purpose crimping tool to crimp them onto the two wires. Then I covered the whole connection with electrical tape. I have fired the bulbs and they look awesome. I can't wait to put it on my tank. Right now, I am still waiting to put on some nicer wood over the frame, which is what you will see in the pics. What you see in the pics are:
1. Canopy flipped upside-down
2. Left Metal Halide
3. Right Metal Halide (also one of my best pics if I say so myself)
4. End caps and part of the bulbs of the T-5s
5. Both metal Halides
Have some more pics in a sec.

Here ya go (this is mostly all of the wiring):
1. Connection between halide socket and ballast
2. Connection between ballast and halide socket
3. T-5 ballast
4. Fan
5. Metal Halide ballast (older pic before I re-wired it)
I also was able to ground the ballast by taking the green wire and putting a ring terminal and screwing it in to the reflector. Let me know what you guys think. I want to get as many opinions as possible.

I wanted to know what you guys think about what's in the pics, not the quality of it. But yes, I get it, I need to get a tripod. I will work on that.

Only thing I would suggest would be to paint the inside of the canopy a bright white so the light will reflect off the wood and into the tank. Dont want to waste all that light on the wood.
