More bad news (unless Tyedyed's wife can help) . . . even if you can find a Home Depot that carries it, the shipping will kill you if you aren't local. The cheapest I could find was for DHL and it would be roughly $60 door to door. After you add the cost of the Southdown it isn't worth the hassle for the extra $20.
Looks like my LFS is going to sell some sand this weekend . . . I give up!

It's possible that it may not be available due to the season. They carry it for playgrounds. Not a big call for playground sand in the winter. May have to wait till spring.

Is "Yardright" safe.
Helpful Tip. Since YardRight™ Tropical Play Sand has been purified at high temperatures before packaging, be sure to add some moisture to return it to its natural state. Moist sand makes for better sandcastles. Not suitable for aquarium systems and traction purposes.
"NOT SUITABLE FOR AQUARIUM SYSTEMS..."
or are they trying to scare you.

They just want you to buy the more expensive sand made by CaribSea. There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be able to use Southdown/Yardright play sand in your aquarium. :)

As lefty said I posted above it is a contract thing. Caribsea and yardright are the same sand.

Bad news people, the play sand that is at this home depot is silica based so cant help anyone out .....yet. im gonna go in and talk to the manager to see if he is able to order it, i figure if he can order it then the home depot closest to you should be able to do the same thing:D

Found some Southdown today at Home Depot, Moorestown NJ (S. Jersey)
They had like a palet and a half.
Looking at the picture "Cowfishrule" posted.
Looks like they have changed packaging. Same blue and red lettering, graphics etc. It just doesn't say "Southdown"
It says its Silica free, sterilized, etc
Not recommended for aquariums
And its from Pennsylvania which is where the "southdown" company is from.
SOUND LIKE THE RIGHT STUFF?

This is the picture that COWFISHRULE posted. New bags don't have the southdown name on top. everything els is the same.
