Ive picked up a Yellow tail coris wrasse yesterday. Since its been in my tank my lavander tang has been picking on it. I want to get rid of it. I have at least 100 lbs of LR as well as some coral. ive been trying to fish it out for the past 3 hours. Now when i put the net in it hides behind the live rock with all my other little ones. Hell 2B honest ive even tryed my fishing rod with some dryied seaweed attached to it, but my hippo and yello tang go after the hook them selves. If i didnt know any better i swear that the lavander knows im after it. Does any one have any ideas how to get it out without me having to move any of my LR
around? And when i do get it out would anyone in Toronto Ont. want to buy it for $25.00? I payed $60.00 + TX.
Please i Need some help.
Share as manny ideas as possible
Smart or dumb i dont care.
Thankx for your time.

I have read on here that you can try leaving the net in the tank for a few days so the fish aren't scared of it. If you know where he sleeps at night you can try to scoop him out when he's sleeping. I know how you feel, I had some chromis I needed to get out and I was not going to tear all my rock out! After two weeks I gave up and bought a trap with a revolving door and caught it in about 3 minutes.

Before lights on in morning stick net in and turn lights on and food in at same time get ready to net him .He will be so interested with the food ,he wont notice you. This worked with a tang that I used to have problems with.Good luck

i can catch anything, just sit there and be patient, might take an hr, i have always caught fish, even those mono whatevers, get two big nets and be prepared to fight, be aggressive! try feeeding then snatch him

The only way I could catch the 3 yellows and pbt was to tear apart 175lbs of lr and coral and fish em out w/ a net. I'd love to get rid of my lawnmower blenny, but i don't think thats an option!!

take one gallon bucket (mineral water) cut it and if you can put seaweeds with clip inside if you have garlic put some drop on it , put it in the tank and wait the fish need some time and in the end he will get in if you can do not feed the fish he will get in and do not stand close or face to the tank.

Turn off the lights on the tank and dont turn on any lights in the room for about 3 hours (at night so the sun isnt out). Make sure the cover of ur tank is opened enough for the net to maneuver before you turn off the lights. Once the fish are sleeping, turn on enough lights so you can see, but dont move the net until you think the fish is in position. Fish tend to drift around at night slowly. I caught my royal gramma and my goby that way. Hope this helps - i hate it when the fish just don't cooperate. :happyfish

I am having the same problem w/ a flame hawk.. I went 2 target and got a clear plastic cookie jar w/ a hinged lid.. I took fishing line and tied it to the lid and rubberbaned a peice of LR rubble to the lid and I have it sitting in the tank so they get used to it.. Tomorrow AM im going to feed them.. by putting the food in the jar.. and wait for him to go in and then let go of the fishing line..
Try that or rent a trap from your LFS.. I just couldnt bring myself to spend $20 2 rent a fish trap to catch a fish that has already cost me money!
