Sounds like your tank is doing ok. I'd guess that it's about the fish you choose. Do you see them eat before buying them? Are you buying them large or small? The powder blues are very delicate. Nasos generally need very large tanks as they get larger. But if you're losing yellows also very quickly, this is a surprize. Are you getting them all from the same lfs?

Do you always get them from the same place?
People may be able to help better if you list all water perameters as well as specs on the whole system, ie filtration, skimming, turnover rate.

they have been from differant lfs, and even mail orders.
I use a wet/dry sump with phosphate pad,
a prism protein skimmer which I hate,
and i do a weekly 10% water change with R.O deionization water.

What are you feeding them. I have found that I must feed my tank much more heavily to keep my tangs in good health. Try chunks of PRoV gelatin food in a clip.

What are the circumstances of their deaths? If feeding them is a problem, you might want to keep them in quarantine longer to insure they are eating enough and not being bullied during feeding time. My powder blue was eating fine in quarantine, but once inside the larger tank was getting shoved aside at feeding time. now there's no stopping her.

I have bought 3 different tangs from 3 different stores...ALL have died. I am in the same boat as you are! I have now learned to dislike tangs greatly haha.

I had the same problem as you are !! I finally spoke with a reputable wholesaler in my area, and he asked me if I have a ground probe in my tank? I didn't and went and purchased one, and I now have 5 tangs, all doing great, calm down..in two tanks !! But I do keep 4 in the same tank, and have no problems, other than a grumpy scopas occasionally..LOL..been about 18 months now!!! :cheer:
