Captive bread fish

Are fish bread in captivity "hardier" than wild fish? The LFS guy said they are and that they tolerate "shifts" better. We're debating when to add fish since we gave up ours b/c our tank was started too fast. We have a 29 gal w/some snails and hermits, an arrow crab and two damsels (very small) so I don't know whether to believe the LFS place or not?!?

Always try to buy captive raised fish, corals and inverts when possible. They are better suited for aquarium life and it does not take away from the worlds natural reefs. I believe one day everything in the trade will be captive raised...
