Carbon in a reef tank?

I well i have 2 tanks a 25 gal and a 50 gal reef should i put carbon in them or should they be left alone? Is the carbin hard on corals? live rock live sand etc.....

If you don't have a skimmer, then certainly. If you do it can't hurt. Assuming that you maintain trace elements.

I keep the carbon in the sump of my reef tank every other week for one week, so it ends up being inside half the month. Justin
