I have set up my 155gal bowfront, and I have a Amiracle trickle filter, w/protein skimmer. With a 404 fluval with LS and LR. A pr. of clowns and a couple of damsels. My question is, I was instructed by the LPS to put in Phos-Zorb, in the Fluval instead of the Carbon. What are the benifits of Phos-Zorb vs Carbon ?

Phos-Zorb remove phosphate
Carbon remove color, odor, dissolved organic and contaninants
what is your water source? tap water? RO?

I personally use carbon only. I guess the LFS didn't tell you that the carbon will remove Phosphate, as well as Amonia, dissolved organics, clouding agents and much much more...Phos-Zorb to me would be to use in an emergency situation. Do you have a Phosphate problem? Let us know your water parameters, and problems you're looking to cure, if any... :)

My water source is tap water. I while talking about RO I would love to know more about it. The equipment for RO is it expensive. I dont have any water problems that I know of yet. I'am new to salt water and just wondering what my options are. I would like to have a FLR tank only any suggestions on lighting ?

you will get a green hair algea problem if your tap water contain phosphate(i'm pretty sure that they do)
yes, you can use Phos-Zorb to remove phostphate but in the long run the RO unit will safe money
lighting does not required much for FOWLR but just in the safe side in the future you want to upgrade to reef, get VHO
4 x 6' VHO
or get something cheap now and save money for the better light system in the future is not a bad idea
it's depend on your bugget.
good luck
