There aren't a lot of responses in the LPS forum so I have a couple questions about some corals.
What a the general care requirements for acans? and for blastomussas? I am thinking of ordering some soon since my tank is more mature now but want to make sure than I can care for them properly.
Thanks ahead of time!!!

I have my Acans under 150 watt MH light, about 3" up from the san in the rockwork. I feed them a couple of times per week some meaty frozen foods. They are multiplying, staying colorful and puffing up and putting out their feeders. I has a lot of flow in my tank but they are not in direct flow, where they are the flow is pretty much bouncing off the front glass and the side glass towards them.
Hope that helps some.

Definitely! Thanks. You have better lighting so I am thinking that mine will have to go toward the top. I already feed my duncans a couple times a week and I get like one new head a month so I can just incorporate that them into that feeding schedule. Night or day feeders?

They are little piggys in my tank. Their feeders are out most of the time.
You can see them here. The white tentacles.

Right on! I love the response you get from LPS. They always seem more "alive" to me for some reason. Like my duncans, as soon as I start blowing the food at them with the pipette, their little mouths open and you can see them eating the food. SPS and zoos don't really do that as much or at least it is not as visible.
Know anything about blastos?

They eat more or less the same as my fish do. Omega brine, cyclops, phyto, mysis, emerald diet, krill. I mix it all together with garlic and vitamins and tank water for moisture. Then I use a pipette to target feed my tank each night. Usually a batch lasts me about 3 days. I have been thinking about adding squid and oyster ova by nutramar when it comes back in stock....

My lights run from 3:30pm to 11pm due to work so I feed once about 7 or 8 at night.....I don't have any corals that eat primarly at night yet but I may so I guess I will adjust if I need to. Once in a while I skip a day (like once a week). I probably feed to much because I do have some hair algae but I just brush it off by hand.
Do you know anything about blastos, Kitty?

NO, sorry...I was thinking of getting some, just haven't yet....I got the Acans from this site....the frag ones....they are very very nice.....

Now they don't even compare to Sir Spanko's.....and the pic stinks, but they are very puffed up, and have a few tentacles....food flows all around them, so I hope they are getting enough....I think they have grown in the few weeks I have had them though

both like low flow and low light (bottom on MH lighted tanks). both are about as easy as they come.
REALLY?? My acans are about mid tank (tank is a 30" deep 225g) and I have the 3 250w MH lights....I hope this is okay? They seem happy
if puffy means happy anyway
