Caribsea Look Alive Rock

Hi
Has anyone used the Caribsea Look Alive rock in your tanks? It is coated with some sort of Coraline algea, and is suppose to come to life in a few weeks. Just wondering how this might work in a fish only tank.
thanks

Probably work just fine. Add a couple pieces of the real thing and you are in good shape.

I think it will be fine as base rock, but dont think that it is coated with real corraline algae:
Heres some info I found
Look Alive Reef Rocks - Hand epoxy color painted
on reef rock to mimic the look of Coraline algae. Perfect for saltwater and african cichlid tanks.

I e-mailed Caribsea about these rocks and it almost sounds like a Chia Pet. They claim in a few weeks Coralline algea will begin to grow. I think I will add a few lbs of live rock and see if I can get this to come to life.

Corraline will grow on anything after a few weeks with the right conditions. I had several powerheads that were starting to look like rocks.
