CaribSea Purple Up Causing brown algae?

Hello, everyone. I'm pretty new to this hobby and I've had my tank running nor for about a month when I came across that Purple Up stuff for the promotion of coralline algae. I can't help but notice that although I do see much more purple, there is an abundance of brown algae on my rocks and patches on my sand. Should i be concerned about this? Will it go away?
*As a note, this algae showed up as soon as i introduced purple up, I saw nothing like it until I did.

Purple up DOES NOT cause brown algae. What you are seeing is a DIATOM bloom which is normal. It will go away as the tank matures and it will then turn green (on the glass). Use a turkey baster(brand new) to blow it off rocks and use more current suchh as a powerhead to help keep it in suspension so that it gets filtered out.

purple up is basically calcium. it wouldnt cause brown algae bloom. u hv mentioned ur tank has been up for 1 month? a 1 month old tank is still in the early cyle stage. brown algae is just part of the tank maturing process. r u testing for phosphate? r u using tap water? get a few turbo snails to solve the algae problem.

yes I use tap water for top offs but I put some allantation stuff in there from "Jungle" products that neutralizes chlorine/chloramine and ammonia so its safe for saltwater fish. So how long does this typically last? I heard it turns green then its taken over by coraline? Should i continue using purple up?

Your going to end up having serious issues with other types of algae if you continue to use tap water. Use RO/DI water for your tank from this point on. Check for phosphates in your tank and if you have some, use phospate remover.
