Carnation coral, Is there any hope?

I went to the LFS and they suggested a red carnation coral for my tank (55 gal, 260 PC lights, 50 lbs LR). When I got it home I put it at the top for a few hours. Then, I researched it and found out it likes low light so I moved it to the bottom kind of under some rocks. It has since shrunk a little bit. I also read that they eat phyto, so I turned my skimmer off for about 2 hrs and dumped some in. Any other suggestions? Should I put it completely out of the light, or under some light. And, I read on this sight they were really hard to keep, any hope?

Rainey,
Everything I have read pretty much says they are hard to keep and dont last very long in tanks. I would place it under a rock ledge out of the bright light and hope for the best. Theres always a chance it will make it. Good luck
