carpet anemones

i would like to buy a carpet anemone but what would i need to feed it
i have t5 lighting(so i just found out)

they require quite a bit of light, and get rather large. But feeding it cut up pieces of fresh, raw grocery store shrimp should work just fine.

Do a lot of research first. They're gonna get big. I think there are 5 different carpets but 2 of them won't host any clowns. I can't remember which ones they are. Some are known to be fish eaters.
PerfectDark or RodBeulle knows a lot more about carpets than I do so maybe they will beep in although I haven't seen Rod on here in a while.

I have seen Rod on here a few days ago... and he would be my first stop for advice. However my 2 cents, as stated there are a few different types of carpet anemones so do your homework and make sure you know which one your looking at or interested in. Stichodactyla gigantia is considered the most difficult species of anemone to keep, and they require very strong lighting...nothing less than metal halide. And the other end of the spectrum is Stichodactyla Haddoni which is considered one of the hardier clown anemones. And can also be comfortable in a wide range of different types of light. And Stichodactyla Mertensii which is the largest of all anemone species 3' in dia or more and is also recomended to have nothing less than metal halide lighting. HTH good luck.

Like the others have said, a hadoni would be the only "carpet" that I would recommend for your lighting. I wouldnt worry about feeding it at all for the first few weeks, then I would simply feed my fish heavily enough (with a good quality frozen food without gel binders) so some of the larger hunks make it to the anemone. I like to use a turkey baster to feed my fish. I dont"spot feed" but I do "directional feed"
