carpet?

I have a 110g that is 72 x 18 x 18 (I would assume fairly shallow compared to some 100+).
I have 2 mjmods (1200) circulating water (along with my pump from the sump).
The levels are good.
My lighting:
4 x 65w 48" p.c.
3 x 80w 60" tek t-5
Would that be enough lighting for a carpet?
Is there any difference between blue, green, atlantic, haddoni (besides of course color and $)?

It would be enough to host them for a short period of time, but not enough to keep for a long period!! They do alot beter under MH...
