yes i have done it and do it all the time. netting the fish will be next to impossible(it may also harm the fish). they have ther holes to run too on the reef and a net is just to slow to cach them. what you need is a suction gun. you swim up to the fish point the gun and pull the handle sucking water and the fish into a chamber wher you hold the fish untill you can dump the fish into a place wher you can transport the fish. i dont remember the name of the tool but i will post it in a while.

the gun is called a slurp gun, i recomend getting one in makes it really easy. you will also want diving gear and a good place to hold the fish untill you can put them in an aquarium. good luck

Thanks looking at slurp guns right now...is there any that are better than others... Or ones that arent worth their money?
good ones will cost from $50 to $60. these guns work best on small fish of 2'' to 3'' or smaller. do your best to find a reef or a place wher you can corner the fish. when you go to pull start slow and get a steady curent going and when you have pulled about half way jerk fast. using a slurp gun does take a while to get good at it but you can figure it out. depending on how skidish the fish are.

Well i decided it didnt look hard so i went to home depot and built my own slurp gun for about 30 bucks plus mine has a collection net built inso i dont have to empty it into a bucket
