ok -- well provided that I get him out alive - I will keep you in mind.
I will keep you posted!

*just a question - wouldn't he destroy shipping material - ie a bag??*

Maybe you can try shooting some seltzer water w/a turkey baster into the whole where he's hiding or increase the salinity in a bucket of water to 1.035 or so. I have heard this will chase out those elusive critters. They are nocturnal so you might be able to trap him when he comes out at night. Good luck

FINALLY - I got the dirty little bugger! Unfortunately he was dead (well fortunately at the same time) he is about 1-1/2" long - Here is his mug shot - I tried to get one closer but the camera just got blurry - if you zoom in on him though you can see his "hammers"
Thanks to everyone for all of your suggestions!
Oh and what I finally had to do was I put the rock in a freshwater dip - that still didn't work so I broke the rock open with a hammer and chisel - Hubby loved that part!
AND OMG worm infestation - anyone suggest a fish that likes worms?
Thanks again!

it sure is! The fish that he killed were at least 3 times his size!
I think that it must have been the freshwater that killed him - or the heat.... I used hot tap water
