I go out on my boat in the keys about every weekend. I used to supply my tank with only things that i caught. Now I have a really nice tank with items mostly from the fish store. Now I have real money involved instead of caught fish and coral. Well my question is should i steer away from adding coral, crabs, rocks and stuff like that in fear of bringing somthing into my tank that might crash it with disease or other problems that i am not aware of.

If you have a quarantine tank set up you could keep them seperate and treat them for anything they might have before introducing them into you main tank. And as long as you are adding thing that are compatable with your main tank I don't think you'd have any problems. One thing that you might have already done is check you local laws, some places it is illegal to harvest from the reef and this could lead to be legal problems.
